Colab Construction is a commercial and multi-residential builder based in Albany, working across the Great Southern of Western Australia.

We began in 2015 as a two-person carpentry and roofing outfit and registered as a building contractor the following January. Adam Wheeler, our director, has been on the tools since 1991, completing his carpentry apprenticeship in 1994 and Advanced Building Certificate in 1997. Adam now has over 35 years of commercial and residential work behind him, across Western Australia, the UK and New South Wales. Backed by a tight multi skilled team utilising a list of proven local subcontractors we’ve been working with for years, Colab has grown into one of the region's leading commercial builders, delivering new builds, fit-outs, and refurbishments, often in live environments, achieving great project outcomes for trades and clients alike.

We’re pre-qualified with the WA Department of Housing and Works for projects up to $3 million and are a long-standing member of Master Builders Western Australia. In eleven years, we’ve delivered a wide array of bespoke projects, picking up three leading supplier awards with state government in the past three years.

The way we work comes down to three things. Collaboration is in the name; working alongside architects, trades and clients isn’t a slogan, it’s a daily practice; share the brief, share the problem, share the win. We spend where we live, prioritising local subcontractors and suppliers. On our recent $3 mil hatchery project, 84% pf contract value was placed inside the Great Southern and we run sites you’d be proud of; clean, safe, organised, working hard to minimise impact on neighbours, schools and staff.

We are a sharp, longstanding, cohesive team who all live within 15 minutes of the office in central Albany.
